A lot has happened in 3 years..........

Well, It's been almost 3 years since I last updated this blog. I am now living full time in a little village in Norfolk, Just outside of Norwich. I have had my right hip replaced. I am waiting to have my right knee replaced too. My lovely mum passed away in September last year and I no longer do upholstery, as my arthritis is too bad. I now make quilts and sew things. A lot less strenuous on the hands.I will be updating this blog more often as I am settled now and feel like telling people about the things I am doing.

UPHOLSTERY PROJECT

These were another e-bay find. A beautiful set of 6 very early mahogany balloon back chairs. They needed total restoration. I glued the pieces back together, cleaned and waxed the wood then did a total re-upholstery job on them and covered them in a stone coloured french linen. Very nice classical look.

Singer Featherweight 221k

This was a great find

This is a great machine for quilters. I have sewn many a quilt on it. It sews a perfectly straight 1/4" seam. I had the motor reconditioned & the foot pedal and power lead rewired & all new rubber feet on the machine and the foot pedal. Now I have the perfect featherweight, it's great for taking to my holiday home in Norfolk for the summer as it is so light. It even had the little darning/embroidery foot still with it for free motion quilting.

reclamation yard find

Hi everyone I found these 4 chairs in a sorry state at my local tip. They cost me £4. The Victorian mahogany table was an e-bay find for £38. It needed to be glued back together and the castors cleaned and a good all over clean and wax. These are the before and after shots. I am very new to blogging so please forgive all the errors and faults with my blog.Annie.
